داستان جایی شروع میشه که خدایان بحث این رو به میان میاورند که انسان‌ها زنده بمانند یا نابود شوند. ولی یک والکری به تنهایی بحث را به سمتی میکشاند که به انسان‌ها اجازه یک مبارزه در مقابل خدایان داده شود. و به این شکل کور سوی امید بشریت روشن باقی میماند. سیزده خدا، سیزده انسان، در مقابل هم قرار میگیرند تا سرنوشت بشریت را مشخص کنند .
